Our US$6,000–$8,000 average considers the corresponding treatment-cost categories in Brazil: clinical care, examinations, medication, laboratory procedures, indicated genetic testing and transfer. The Brazilian figure is supplied by our clinical group, not measured by the U.S. study; individual use of services varies.

Leading Brazilian fertility laboratories offer the technologies used by leading U.S. centers: ICSI, time-lapse embryo culture, AI-supported assessment, embryo biopsy with PGT and vitrification. These are established components of modern reproductive care in Brazil.
Brazil’s lower local price level and favorable exchange rate make treatment substantially less expensive in dollar terms. For American and European patients, that means access to advanced medicine at a lower price—not a different standard of technology.

Brazil has two distinct layers of oversight: ANVISA’s technical and sanitary requirements for reproductive cells and embryos, and the Federal Council of Medicine’s ethical rules for assisted reproduction. These are more specific than a general promise of “high standards.”

An established international destination.
Brazil’s reproductive-medicine sector has long served patients from abroad. Pesquisa FAPESP reported in 2018 that 80% of the Brazilian clinics surveyed in a university study had treated foreign patients, frequently from the United States and Angola.
The same article reported that Brazil accounted for 43.2% of assisted-reproduction births recorded in Latin America in 2014. These are historical indicators of the sector’s scale and international experience—not current national success rates.

Brazil has established centers offering sophisticated reproductive care. The meaningful question is how a specific team performs for patients with your age, diagnosis and treatment pathway.
Ask for live births rather than pregnancy alone; distinguish results per retrieval from results per transfer; and separate donor-egg cycles from own-egg cycles. A transfer-only rate excludes patients whose cycles never reached transfer.
No single national percentage can predict your result. A strong center should explain its data period, sample size, patient mix and the uncertainty in your individual prognosis.

What does choosing Brazil involve?
São Paulo is one nonstop flight from Miami: approximately 8½ hours, with service from American Airlines and LATAM. Overnight departures make it possible to travel in the evening and arrive the following morning. Your concierge coordinates onward travel to Porto Alegre when needed.
Start with a medical plan, then arrange your travel around it. Some investigations may be completed at home if accepted by your treating team. Monitoring, retrieval and transfer dates depend on the chosen protocol and your response.
If embryos are biopsied and frozen for genetic testing, transfer is generally planned later. That can mean a second visit. Include flights, accommodation, time away from work and follow-up in the decision.
