Pregnancy and live birth are different outcomes. A rate per embryo transfer answers a different question from a rate per retrieval or per started cycle. Ask which endpoint is being reported and which patients are included.

Age, egg source, treatment history and clinical circumstances can all affect interpretation. Own-egg and donor-egg results should not be treated as interchangeable.
- Outcome definition and treatment stage.
- Age group and egg source.
- Fresh or frozen transfer where relevant.
- Reporting period and number of cases.
- Whether the result includes cycles that did not reach transfer.
