Previous pregnancies, treatment records, medical conditions, medications and the time you have spent trying can all help guide an assessment. Where relevant, both partners' reproductive health is considered.
Tests chosen for a reason.
Assessment may include ultrasound, hormone testing and semen analysis, with additional investigations guided by the clinical findings. Not everyone needs the same tests.
Bring existing reports where possible. Your specialist can explain which remain useful and whether any should be repeated before treatment.

A diagnosis does not always produce one obvious answer. Your physician should explain the options, the uncertainties and why a particular course is being proposed. You should leave with a clearer understanding, not simply a longer list of tests.
